Circle and Rectangle Probe

With Larkspur, we are now announcing two new Origin Extensions, released as part of Labs: Probe Rectangle and Probe Circle! 

In order to use these new Extensions, you’ll need to manually activate them on your Origin.  Go to the settings -> Extensions -> and click on each Extension to activate them.

Much like Origin’s Grid feature, these new Extensions allow you to physically probe your material with a router bit. Probing your material multiple times captures its location and shape in your digital workspace, no tedious measurements or calculations required. Whether you need to locate the center of a dowel, position a tenon on rectangular stock, or simply center a logo on a cutting board, these extensions make it easy.

You can also combine these new probing extensions with Origin’s Export feature to elevate Studio’s design capabilities. Digitize physical material with the Probe Extensions, export that information to Studio, and then design around your probed geometry with Studio’s extensive suite of design tools. It’s easy to bring any changes you make in Studio back to Origin with everything lining up perfectly.

We believe that Probe Rectangle and Circle have the potential to be some of the most powerful extensions on Origin.
